LINC Chess Club begins in North Kansas City Schools

Students at Chouteau Elementary in the North Kansas City Schools learned all about chess pieces and how they move in their first day of LINC Chess Club. The club uses proven techniques and stages to help all ages and levels of chess players become highly competitive.

LINC chess tournament completes the year

Over 185 students participated in the LINC 2017 end-of-the-year chess tournament on Saturday, May 13, at Center High School.

There were 36 teams represented.

This was the fourth chess tournament LINC held this school year.

LINC Commission Meeting Monday, May 15th

The LINC Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting Monday, May 15th from 4-6 pm at the Kauffman Foundation.

The public is invited to attend.

Over 200 students compete at LINC Chess Winter Tournament in Fort Osage

Over two hundred students participated in a total of five competitive rounds of chess play today, Saturday December 5 at Fire Prairie Upper Elementary in Fort Osage School District. The next tournament will be March 5 at Bingham Middle School in the Independence School District.

Over twenty students are active with LINC Chess Camp this summer

LINC Chess Camp and LINC Chess University are keeping students and volunteers active playing chess this week at Woodland Early Learning Center in Kansas City Public Schools. New this year, LINC Chess University participants will work with LINC Chess Camp students their last day.

Increase in LINC Chess participation continues into summer

Students continue to play chess into the summer. Seventeen elementary schools in Kansas City Public Schools are open with LINC Summer Schools students playing and learning chess. LINC Chess camp will once again be offered this summer at Woodland Early Learning Center July 27-July 31.

LINC Chess programs keep students, adults playing in the summer

LINC Chess is once again hosting programs this summer with LINC Chess Camp and LINC Chess University at Woodland Early Learning Center in Kansas City Public Schools. From 8 a.m. to noon starting Monday, July 27-Friday, July 31 students can improve their chess game with LINC Chess instructors during LINC Chess. Adults can sign up for LINC Chess University to become a certified LINC Chess instructor.
