Organizations gather to address youth homelessness

The first conference in the Heartland dedicated to the serious and growing issue of youth homelessness was held in Kansas City on September 12. The circumstances that result in a youth becoming homeless are unique and varied, but trends are identifiable and best practices exist. The agenda provided information about data trends, tools, and strategies that are proven to work to end homelessness among youth.

Slammin' & Jammin' for Genesis School

Genesis School held their annual Slammin' & Jammin' fundraising event on May 8-9, 2015. The two-day event featured a party and auction, with a professional tennis tournament the following day. LINC produced a short video to kick-off the event.

Genesis Promise Academy organizes Oct. 9 parent workshop

Interactive Parent Workshop will be held at Genesis Promise Academy to support area families. This free event will approach topics relevant to parents and children as children progress through school and prepare for college. Free food, child care, and prizes will be available during the event.

LINC distributes 27,000 free books

LINC distributed 27,000 books, one for every elementary student in the Center, Fort Osage, Grandview, Hickman Mills, Independence, and Kansas City school districts, along with select North Kansas City schools and two charter schools.
