Jackson County Spelling Bee expands to include Clay County students

The recent expansion of the Jackson County Spelling Bee to Clay County opens the spelling bee to students in the eight school districts in Clay County. Participation in the Jackson-Clay Spelling Bee gives students the opportunity to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.

Congratulations to championship bee spellers

Kush Sharma from Frontier School of Innovation won the Jackson County Spelling Bee March 8th in a continuation of a tie with Sophia Hoffman on Feb. 22 at Kansas City Public Library-Central Branch.

LINC, the Kansas City Public Library, the Mid-Continent Public Library and the American Federation of Teachers were sponsors of the local competition.

Fifteen students advance to championship bee, Mid-Continent to hold division bee Feb. 15.

Fifteen students from the Kansas City Public Library Division Bee continue on to the Jackson County Championship Bee. Mid-Continent Public Library Division Bee to be held this Sat., February 15.
