Fifteen students advance to championship bee, Mid-Continent to hold division bee Feb. 15.

Fifteen out of the forty-three students spelled their way to compete to the championship bee during the Kansas City Public Library Division Bee February 1.

The Jackson County Championship Bee will be held Sat., February 22 at the Kansas City Public Library-Plaza Branch. Kindergarten- eight grade students who have advanced from either the Kansas City Public Library or Mid-Continent Public Library Division Bee will compete until one student remains.

Mid-Continent Public Library Division Bee will be held this Saturday, February 15 with 34 students competing to advance to the championship bee.

The winner of the championship bee will represent Jackson County in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C., May 25-31.
 
Multiple LINC Caring Community schools participated in the Kansas City Public Library Division Bee including Belvidere, Butcher-Greene, Conn-West, Meadomere, and Martin City (Grandview School District), Dobbs (Hickman Mills School District), and Attucks, King, and Rogers (Kansas City Public Schools).   

LINC has partnered with Kansas City Public Library, Mid-Continent Public Library, and Kansas City Federation of Teachers to sponsor the Jackson County Spelling Bee again this year.

LINC is a proud sponsor of the spelling bee to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts, and develop correct English usage.
