More clinics are planned for November. Walk-ins will be accepted.

LINC collaborated with Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church to provide vaccination opportunities targeting east Kansas City neighborhoods that have been hardest hit by the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Now, with the Delta variant of Covid-19 spreading through Kansas City neighborhoods, the call for vaccination has taken on new urgency. The CDC reports that the variant is highly contagious among populations that have not been vaccinated.

All of the vaccines provided in the U.S. and at Morning Star — Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson — have been proving to be effective against the Delta variant, the CDC says. The rise in Covid-19 cases has been occurring mostly among people who are not vaccinated.

State and local health officials are urging people who have been hesitant until now to get their shots.

LINC and Morning Star are partnering with Heart to Heart International to provide the vaccines in the newly scheduled clinics. Previously, the clinic had been staffed by the Missouri National Guard and the Kansas City Fire Department.
