Remember the new tax deadline? Here's how to file for free by July 15
A lot of obligations took a break when the coronavirus hit — including filing your 2019 income tax return.
But the new July 15 filing deadline is fast-approaching.
You can file online at GetYourRefund.org and households that earned less than $66,000 can file for free.
The website is a partner with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) service that provides tax filing assistance to families earning less than $66,000 a year.
Trained, IRS-certified volunteers will prepare and double-check your tax return to make sure it is correct before filing.
The IRS extended the deadline from the traditional April 15 deadline. You do not need to file any additional forms or call the IRS for the extension.
