Upcoming Independence Homebuyer Education Class to equip new homeowners

The next Independence Homebuyer Education Class will be held Saturday, September 13 at the Community Services League in two part sessions. 

Part One will be 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and Part Two will be 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Community Services League is located at 404 N. Noland Road in Independence. The classes are 20 dollars, attendees are asked to bring a calculator, paper, and a writing utensil.

Participants will learn a variety of skills needed to make owning a home a sound finiancial investment, including:

  • Buying a house
  • Managing your money
  • Determine what you can afford
  • Mortgages 
  • Types of home loans
  • Understanding your credit score
  • Protecting your investment
  • Investing in the neighborhood
