Kansas City Public Library to provide free tech. activities for Digital Learning Day

Kansas City Public Library will celebrate Digital Learning Day Thur., Feb. 13 with free digital immersion opportunities for youth and adults at the Central Branch from 4:30-7:30 pm.

Women in Technology will be hosting CoderDojo, a free coding club for kids, and the Microsoft Store will be present to teach Kodu, a free coding software platform. Digital storytelling and Little Bits and Arduino kits from Science City are some of the free activities for those interested in robotics, digital media, and technology.

Attendees are encouraged to RSVP to the Digital Youth Engagement Manager at andreaellis@kclibrary.org

Digital Learning Day is a national celebration of digital learning to connect kids with digital tools to which will prepare them for college and professional careers.

Center for Digital Learning and Policy, a division the Alliance for Excellent Education, is partnering with the Afterschool Alliance and Educator Innovator to support Digital Learning Day to be held in classrooms across the country.
