Grandfamilies Conference give support to KCMO caregivers

Area grandparents and caregivers were connected with resources and information to help them raise grandchildren at the AARP MO Grandfamilies Conference on Oct. 25 at the Kansas City (Mo.) Health Department.

Conference speakers and a panel discussion addressed topics such as bullying, drug abuse, child abuse and neglect, legal issues, and other issues grandparents and caregivers face raising children.

Resource tables were staffed by many organizations including AARP, City of Kansas City, Jackson County COMBAT, Legal Aid of Western Missouri, LINC, Swope Health Services and University of Missouri Extension.
