Second Cinco de Mayo celebration grows with 1,000 attendees

The citizens of Independence held its second Cinco de Mayo celebration Sunday, May 4 at Hill Park Pavilion. Multiple Central and Latin American countries were represented through food, arts and crafts, and performances.

Mallinson Elementary School was filled with dancing, food, music, and student performances on Tuesday, Dec. 10, as Celebración de la Navidad brought together Hispanic families across Independence to celebrate Christmas.

Independence will hold a community Cinco de Mayo celebration on Sunday, May 5th from 1-4 pm at McCoy Park. Those who attend will be able to enjoy fun family activities, free food, and live entertainment.
