LINC Chess hosts 181 at North Kansas City tournament

LINC Chess hosted 181 students at its first K-12 tournament in North Kansas City. ​

The tournament was held at North Kansas City High School in the North Kansas City School District. LINC Chess has recently expanded in that district, and three schools attended that had not previously entered in a tournament. 

Students from 13 school districts in the Kansas City metro area participated.

The fourth and final LINC Chess tournament during the 2012-13 school year will be the annual Year-End ​Tournament, held at Hickman Mills Jr. High School in the Hickman Mills School District, 9010 Old Santa Fe Rd., KCMO. This is traditionally the largest tournament of the year.

The largest LINC Chess tournament hosted to date was held in December at Gladstone Elementary (KCPS). Over 200 students participated. The LINC Chess program continues to grow in number of Caring Communities programs and number of participants.
