Important information for families that are using, or may qualify for Medicaid

LINC is collaborating with several partners in the Kansas City area to help spread important information for families that are using Medicaid, and families that would qualify for Medicaid but have not applied.

If you are currently using Medicaid:

For the first time since the pandemic all states including Missouri have resumed verifying the eligibility of people who are receiving Medicaid. There are important steps families on Medicaid need to take to make sure they get a chance to renew benefits.

First step: Make sure your contact information is up to date with the Missouri Family Support Division. The state over the next year will be sending out letters and Medicaid recipients will have to reply in order to keep getting the benefits through Missouri’s Medicaid — MO HealthNet.

If your address has changed in the last 3 years, you will need to notify the Family Support Division by:

Second Step: Watch for the letter from the Missouri Family Support Division. Medicaid recipients will receive a letter in the mail sometime between April 2023 and April 2024.

You can check the annual renewal timeline to find out when you should expect to get your letter and the deadline for a response. This letter will tell you what, if anything, you need to do next. If a response is required, recipients will need to send an answer ahead of the deadline or risk losing healthcare coverage.

If you want to apply for Medicaid:

Medicaid has been expanded in Missouri and many households may qualify that haven’t ever applied for the benefits through MOHealthNet Coverage.

Most single adults with income up to $20,124 can qualify. Adults in a family of four with incomes up to $41,400 can qualify.
