InPlay KC website helps families sort out affordable after-school, summer programs

Out-of-school-time programs are emerging from their virtual hibernation, summer programs are making ready and InPlay’s website can help parents who are eager to see their kids find more opportunities to play and learn.

InPlay is a non-profit that gathers details on Missouri programs in the Kansas City area for children from pre-school to high school on a sortable website, kc.inplay.org.

Parents can browse through lists of activities, camps, classes and events — sorting them by age-group, date, price, location and activity.

Special filters can also be used to find free or scholarship programs, as well as programs that cater to children with special needs or English language learners.

InPlay wants every kid to get engaged, so the site lists all programs, including those offered by cities, libraries and schools.

Users of InPlay can create their own account for each child, gather favorite programs into a personal folder and text or email the list to friends so they can register too.

InPlay, a California-based non-profit, was brought to Kansas City in 2019 by Turn the Page KC with financial support from the Kauffman Foundation.
