Evergy alert: More aid available to help pay utility bills

More financial aid is coming for many people who are struggling to pay utility bills, the Evergy electric utility in Kansas City announced.

Evergy is urging customers in financial stress to go to the utility’s Financial Help page where it links to resources for customers who are either already behind on paying bills or struggling to pay bills.

The recently passed American Rescue Plan Act has added to previous federal pandemic relief funds to boost aid available to households.

In addition to Evergy’s help page, other help is listed by Kansas City on its page of resources for other rental assistance and utility assistance.
