You're up: Kansas City Public Schools holding town halls to get community's help in critical future plans
The open invitations keep on coming. Big plans are under way for Kansas City Public Schools to imagine how our children will learn in the coming years and shape the future of our community . . .
And the district wants your ideas. Your hopes. Your fears. Your judgment.
The district is hosting a pair of town halls meant to give everyone a voice in the ambitious project, Blueprint 2030.
Here is the town hall schedule:
Tuesday, Dec. 7, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Northeast Middle School, 4904 Independence Ave.
Tuesday, Dec. 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Southeast High School, 3500 E Meyer Blvd.
All things are on the table in planning the best classroom experiences for children — from class sizes, to extra curricular investments to school closings.
The district’s future — and the community’s future — will depend on how well we all build a vision “framed through student experience and outcomes,” Superintendent Mark Bedell said.
The decisions ahead are challenging, he said. It has to be the work of all of us.
The invitation is open: Join the conversation. Join the work.
