What's on your ballot? Where do you vote? Absentee? Mail-in? Vote411 answers all
Vote411, an online voter guide by the League of Women Voters, wants you informed and ready to vote.
The guide will provide personalized ballot information — you just have to enter your address. Information on everything from races in Congressional districts to local wards will be available, plus balanced arguments on local ballot issues.
The information on candidates and races is compiled by the League of Women Voters of Kansas City, Jackson, Clay and Platte Counties (LWVKC). League volunteers have reached out to candidates and organizations supporting and opposing ballot issues. Both the organizations’ and the candidates’ descriptions will be included word-for-word with no editing. If there is no information, it is because the candidate or organization did not respond to emails, letters and phone calls.
The guide means to be a handy reference to help voters before they go to their polling site. The guide also offers a feature called MyBallot that enables voters to mark a copy of their personalized ballot that they can print out and take with them to the polls to help them fill out their ballot..
In addition to Vote411, the nonpartisan Kansas City League of Women Voters provides a number of services for the community including voter registration activities and candidate and issue forums. The League was founded in 1920 and this year is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
In 2020, the League is expanding its traditional election year activities as a Census 2020 partner. The organization is encouraging the public to complete their census forms, valued at $1700 per person for returning Federal tax dollars that support a range of Missouri safety net programs.
