With the aid of the Fort Osage School District’s student broadcast team, Superintendent Jason Snodgrass finally delivered his weather-preempted State of the District Speech this week.

There was a lot to talk about as the district celebrates its 70th anniversary year — including progress in real-world learning, energy efficiencies in operations, an after-school nutrition program, a new community library and food pantry and major building projects done and more to come with an anticipated bond issue election in 2021.

After twice being thwarted by ice and snow, Snodgrass went digital, putting the student media team to work.

“We are proud of Fort’s rich traditions,” the superintendent said. “It’s tremendous to see the amount of accomplishments we’ve had in the last 70 years . . . (and) we look forward to the future and the next 70 years here at the Fort Osage School District.”
