Fairmount Plaza Senior Apartments celebrates 15th anniversary
The Fairmount Plaza Senior Apartments will celebrate its 15th anniversary with an event on Friday, June 23rd, at the apartments located at 615 S. Huttig, Independence, Mo.
The fish and chip dinner will include residents in the project and also several city, local, and other officials involved in construction of the $4.2 million project, which was one of the first major new investments in western Independence in the early 2000s.
Subsequent to that, other organizations including Truman Medical Center and the Independence School District have made major investments in the neighborhood.
The Fairmount Plaza project was an outgrowth of LINC-supported community work involving the Van Horn High School site council and the Northwest Communities Development Corp.
The apartments are available for low-income seniors 62 years or older.
