Learn how to help eliminate child hunger at Nov. 14 summit

No Kid Hungry Missouri, in partnership with LINC, will hold the Kansas City Area Regional Child Hunger Summit on Nov. 14, 2017, 9 a.m-3 p.m., at Drumm Farm Center for Children, 3210 S Lee's Summit Rd #101, Independence, Mo.

Topics will include how you can work to eliminate child hunger in your community by developing scalable and sustainable food service programs, including school breakfast, afterschool meals, and summer meals. Attendees will learn strategies to maximize participation in USDA reimbursable meals programs to increase food service revenues while surrounding kids with consistent access to nutritious meals.

Lunch will be provided at this free event.

According to the current Map the Meal Gap Report, Missouri ranks 29th among states with the highest instances of child food insecurity. In Missouri, nearly 1 in 5 children faces hunger and more than 50% of school kids are eligible for a free or reduced price meal.
