Upcoming health fair to provide health screenings to students

Students needing immunizations and health screenings for the 2014-2015 school year are welcome to attend the Back to School Health & Wellness Fair, Saturday, August 9. 

Jackson County Health Department will hold the fair from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at its office at 313 Liberty St., Independence, Mo 64050. 

The following services will be available to area families: 

• Free immunizations
• Free dental screenings
• Free sports physicals (by appointment, see contact information below)
• Free bicycle helmets for the first 50 participants
• Free string backpacks 

Parents and guardians are asked to bring their child's shot records to the fair. Parking will be available in the corner lot of Liberty and Walnut.
