LINC highlights efforts at NWCDC
LINC recently produced a video for the NorthWest Communities Development Corporation to highlight their efforts throughout the past year.
Their work included tax preparation, food service for Meals on Wheels, housing rehabilitation and development of a senior housing complex at the old Mt. Washington High School.
They acquired exercise equipment through a grant from the City of Independence and it is available to the community. Blood pressure checks and other opportunities for healthy living are available at the Fairmount Community center.
The Truman Medical Centers Mobile food market now stops once a week at the center to supplies fresh fruits and vegetables as reasonable prices.
We congratulate the NWCDC for a successful year. LINC is a long-time partner of the NWCDC and has community organizers at schools in the Independence School District.
