Independence Heritage Festival celebrate diverse community

Independence Heritage Festival brought community residents together at Hill Park as ethnic food, music, and dances highlighted the city's diverse heritage of its residents.  

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 11, free cultural family activities entertained residents. Attendees also brought donations for the Marine Toys for Tots and the Community Service League in Independence. New this year, the First Annual Heritage Skateboard Competition was held during the event. Children from across the city were invited to participate in the free competition.
