"American Promise" documents the journey of two young men in Brooklyn as they attend and graduate from a prestigious and predominately white private school and how it impacts their identities as young black males.

KCPT has partnered with UMKC School of Education, UMKC Black Studies Program, and the Urban Education Research Center to provide a screening of the film to the community. Educators, parents, and students are encouraged to attend and discuss the topic as part of the POV series.
