Melcher getting active and healthy
Melcher Caring Communities in the KCPS is getting active with their new Zealous Zumba classes. The classes bring families and the community together for a positive healthy activity and lifestyle. The class is on Monday's and Friday's from 9:30 - 10am at Melcher Elementary.
At the a recent Melcher community garden event, volunteers met with Dr. Barbara Johnson, Master Gardener from the University of Missouri Extension. Her instruction and training prepared volunteers to properly revitalize the planting beds at Melcher, including tips on how to properly pull weeds and save the rich soil. Volunteers were able to revitalize all six planting beds and are now preparing for Melcher's Community/School Gardening Club.
The gardening club is supported by the City of Kansas City, Missouri and the Kansas City Public Schools.
