Schools excel in behavior support implementation

Congratulations to Pathway Academy and Genesis Promise Academy for winning the Bronze Award from DESE for implementing School-Wide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS) with fidelity.  They will be honored at the Mo SW-PBS Summer Institute at Tan-Tara on June 12, 2013.  

The current data from both schools indicates that the office discipline referrals have decreased significantly and as a result students are spending more time in instructional settings. Students have been taught the expected behaviors and today there is consistency between the school wide expectations and the language used by staff in acknowledging students for exhibiting appropriate behaviors.  Acknowledgement is given to the Administration and their PBIS Teams for their outstanding work in the implementation of SW-PBS.
