During the COVID-19 pandemic, many social services, churches and other organizations are providing meals. Below are some of the places people in our communities can pick up free meals.

The economic fallout of the pandemic has changed circumstances for many households. You can apply for Food Stamps (SNAP) in Missouri on the online application here. Or you can obtain a paper form here that you can fill out and email to FSD.Documents@dss.mo.gov, FAX to 573-526-9400, or mail to your regional office. Find your regional office mailing address here.

Online purchasing now available for households with food stamps
Missouri households receiving food stamps can now enjoy the same safety against the coronavirus by making purchases online. Amazon, Walmart and Aldi websites are now prepared to accept Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards. Learn more here.
Food distribution events
Morning Star Baptist Church, Wednesdays
The church’s community center at 2411 E 27th St. provides food and hygiene resources and other services every Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Ruskin High School, third Thursdays, every month.
Distributions happen monthly on the third Thursday at 4 p.m. the school at 7000 E 111th St. Harvesters provides meat, fruits and vegetables, with volunteers from Hickman Mills.
KC Health Department, downtown, second Tuesdays every month
The health department and Harvesters are providing fruit and vegetables every second Tuesday at the health department, 2400 Troost Ave, at 1:30 p.m. until supplies run out.
Center High School, second Fridays, every month
Distributions occur monthly on the second Friday at 10 a.m. at the warehouse on the north side of the high school campus, 8701 Holmes Road.
Center School District Mobile Pantry, first Saturday every month
Distributions happen monthly on the first Saturday at 9 a.m., at the warehouse on the north side of the high school campus, 8701 Holmes Road.
South Kansas City, various days, by appointment
The Community Assistance Council, 10901 Blue Ridge Boulevard, provides food by appointment in a drive-up service.

Curbside appointments - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9 am to 2:30 pm.
4 - 6 pm Wednesday and 9 am - noon Saturday once a month
First Wednesday, once a month, 4 - 6 pm.
Third Saturday, once a month, 9am-12:00pm.
Delivery for homebound - Thursdays
Food is available once for anyone. Clients out of service area should visit Harvesters website or United Way 211 for pantry in their area.
Pre-packed food boxes include Giving the Basics hygiene items.

Calvary Community Outreach, fourth Thursdays every month
The center at 3200 Holmes Street provides food from 11 a.m. to noon on the fourth Thursday every month.
