Public forum Dec. 10 to introduce three finalists for Kansas City police chief

The Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners has named three finalists to be the city’s next chief of police, and is hosting a public forum to meet the candidates Saturday, Dec. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Robert J. Mohart Multipurpose Center, 3200 Wayne Ave.

“It is our fervent hope that the report can be useful in providing healing stitches in the mending of our community that too often has been frayed at the seams,” said listening sessions co-facilitator Rev. Bob Hill.

LINC sends kids shopping with their friendly, neighborhood cop

For a day, Kansas City law officers traded police cruisers for shopping carts. Their partners were children, sent from LINC and Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, eager to push the limits of $100 gift cards — and make friends.
