Children's Mercy identifies food insecurity as a significant health need

Food insecurity is still a widespread issue in Kansas City. Margo Quiriconi, Director of Community Health Initiatives for Children’s Mercy Kansas City, spoke at the April 16, 2018 LINC Commission meeting. Area festival LitUp celebrates young authors and artists

The 2018 LitUp Festival will be held on May 12th at the North Independence Branch of the Mid-Continent Public Library in Independence, Missouri. It will be an all-day event that features nationally known authors and illustrators and includes panel discussions, writing and illustrating clinics, a writing contest, a poetry slam, music and food trucks!

Pastors in the Pool to Make a Big Splash

Pastors in the Pool is a six-week program to teach urban core church leaders how to swim, water basics and water safety.  The hope is for the pastors to have conversations regarding water safety and awareness in their communities to help make Kansas City residents safer in and around water.
