LINC has been a partner of the North Kansas City School District since 1999, when Crestview Elementary School became a LINC Caring Communities site. As the district has grown and demographics have shifted, LINC has expanded its presence to include other schools.

Teachers Tell Students How Special They Are

A teacher in charge of the school’s academy program for at-risk sophomore and juniors, posed a challenge for her fellow teachers: tell an individual student that they are important and appreciated.

LINC Commission Meeting Monday, Sept. 19th

The LINC Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting Monday, July 18th from 4-6 pm at the Kauffman Foundation. The public is invited to attend.


KCTR addressing a shortage of teachers

The Kansas City Teacher Residency (KCTR) is actively recruiting individuals to become teachers in urban schools and directly address a shortage of teachers.

The North Kansas City and Grandview school districts - two LINC partner school districts - have selected new school superintendents who will start this summer.

Dr. Dan Clemens is the new North Kansas School District superintendent and Kenny Rodrequez is the new Grandview school superintendent. Both were internal candidates.

Maplewood Elementary to receive 250,000 dollars for new sidewalks

The City of Kansas City has appointed 250,000 dollars to create sidewalks around Maplewood Elementary on 52nd Street and Freemont Ave. in the North Kansas City School District. Sidewalks would allow a safer route to and from school for students.

Missouri Tax Amnesty Program begins now through November 30

Businesses and individuals with delinquent taxes before Dec. 31, 2014 are eligible to pay now through November 31 without interest or penalties with the Missouri Tax Amensty Program.

Over 200 students competed in five rounds of chess during the LINC Chess End of Year Tournament at Hickman Mills Freshman Center Saturday, May 9. Congratulations to all participants!

LINC prepares 35,000 books for students
