LINC has been a partner of the North Kansas City School District since 1999, when Crestview Elementary School became a LINC Caring Communities site. As the district has grown and demographics have shifted, LINC has expanded its presence to include other schools.

300 LINC students participate in Girls on the Run 5K

Over 300 girls from 18 LINC Caring Communities Sites participated in the Girls on the Run 5k race on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Arrowhead Stadium. The youth were cheered on by parents and LINC staff during the race.

Jackson County Spelling Bee expands to include Clay County students

The recent expansion of the Jackson County Spelling Bee to Clay County opens the spelling bee to students in the eight school districts in Clay County. Participation in the Jackson-Clay Spelling Bee gives students the opportunity to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.

LINC distributes 27,000 free books

LINC distributed 27,000 books, one for every elementary student in the Center, Fort Osage, Grandview, Hickman Mills, Independence, and Kansas City school districts, along with select North Kansas City schools and two charter schools.

LINC prepares 27,000 books for students

LINC and Turn the Page KC staff along with Americorps Vista volunteers are working hard to prepare and process over 27,000 books for distribution to students around Kansas City.
