‘What you don’t know can hurt you’: See why LINC and partners are spreading the word about Medicaid changes

The federal government is increasing work requirements and other community engagement obligations for many people on Medicaid and thousands remain unaware and in danger of losing coverage after the changes take effect Jan. 1.

LINC is working with several community partners to help alert the community about the changes and encourage people on Medicaid to take necessary steps to keep their coverage intact.

Some essential measures Medicaid recipients should take include going online to the Missouri Department of Social Services’ benefits portal at mydss.mo.gov and make sure your contact information, including mailing address, is current so that you will receive important notices from Medicaid. Also, keep watch for notices that will come in the mail. The state has an information page to help guide Medicaid recipients on the changes that are coming. The Medicaid changes are part of the federal budget reconciliation law, HR 1.
