The weather and Kansas City’s community spirit shined at the second annual Senior Day Party, as nearly 50 partnerships joined Kansas City Councilman Darrell Curls and LINC at Ruskin High School May 2 in celebrating the strength of Kansas City’s senior community.
“It’s a beautiful scene of people getting together, trying to do something in the community for the people,” said Perry Whitmire, one of the visitors enjoying the day’s many offerings.
The day was “fantastic,” Curls said. “We had a great turnout.”
Forty-four vendors from public, private and nonprofit services provided a wide array of opportunities for visitors in the crowd to improve their health and welfare, win prizes and enjoy grilled food.
“We just had a wonderful time,” said Kenneth Hill with Rose Roos, “enjoying fellowship with all the people our age and getting good information. We’ll be out here next year.”
