Since 2007, LINC has led Missouri’s Older Youth Program, helping youth transition from foster care to adulthood.

Youth Advocacy Team

Support when it matters most

We work alongside Missouri Children’s Division and Division of Youth Services case managers to support teens currently in foster care or returning home from the juvenile justice system. Each year, our team assists more than 600 young people across Jackson, Clay, and Platte counties.

Who is Eligible?

Missouri Older Youth Program 

  • Youth in one of the following categories:
  • In-Care Youth

Ages 14–21, currently in foster care

  • After-Care Youth

Former foster youth who exited care at 18 or older, but are still under 23

  • Adopted/Guardianship Youth

Youth adopted or in guardianship after age 16, and are under 21

  • Youth must be referred by a Children’s Division alternative care worker.

Division of Youth Services Community Mentorship

  • Youth must be referred by a Division of Youth Services (DYS) service coordinator.

  • Emergency funds: rent, food, utilities, car repairs
  • Job training + possible financial aid
  • Temporary housing help (up to 90 days)
  • One-on-one personal support
  • MO HealthNet (Medicaid) coverage until age 26
  • Services are personalized with help from the Family Support Team.
