LINC Caring Communities Coordinator Yolanda Robinson has been leading LINC programs since 2012, including nine years at Faxon Elementary School where she led one of LINC’s largest and strongest community before and after school programs. In 2024, when the Palestine Senior Citizens Activity Center partnered with LINC to bring new management to the center, LINC chose Robinson to bring her community-building skills to restore and expand Palestine’s critical role in serving senior citizens in East Kansas City.

 

Robinson has earned many awards for her work, including being honored in 2019 by the National Congress of Black Women for community service. Robinson has brought many partner agencies and new programming to Palestine, including a community site council to empower seniors in community action. Membership has tripled since 2024 as Robinson pursues her vision of a “thriving, safe community” for seniors, “making sure they have a stake in everything that goes on in their neighborhoods.”
