Interactive map helps locate free breakfast and lunch summer programs for children
Free meals are waiting for children in the long summer weeks ahead, and an online interactive map can help families find where they are.
Many families rely on school nutrition programs to help keep their children eating well, but with classes out for the summer, state efforts like the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Summer Food Service Program aim to bridge the gap.

The statewide map lists more than 80 food locations for children in the Kansas City area, including LINC’s Morning Star site at the Morning Star Youth and Family Life Center at 2525 E. 27th Street.
Morning Star serves breakfast, free for children 18 and under, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and lunch from noon to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday through Aug. 11.
For all of the sites on the interactive map, children do not have to register and there is no fee to participate in the program.
