On the job: LINC, Full Employment Council partnership opens opportunities for families in need

The road to financial independence can lead many ways, and LINC’s partnership with the Full Employment Council in Kansas City has been one of the state’s most effective efforts to help families in need find their way, says FEC President Clyde McQueen.

“We have been able to have one of the highest production rates in the state of Missouri,” McQueen said.

LINCWorks, which helps families in the TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) and SkillUP programs, has been collaborating with the FEC to help parents gain new job skills, find employment and build careers.

“We really feel that this is a great partnership that is based on the common mission to provide support, employment, training and opportunity for those low-income families that deserve it,” McQueen said.

The teamwork has resulted in innovative ideas that have been highlighted at national, state and local levels, he said, enabling the FEC to provide comprehensive help to families.
