Citizens to explore crime increase in Kansas City during K.C.P.T. Crime Caucus

Kansas City area residents are invited to a public discussion on crime and safety in the city during the K.C.P.T. Crime Caucus Tuesday, January 19 at 6 p.m. in the Paseo Academy Auditorium.

In 2015, 109 murders were recorded on Kansas City streets, an large increase in crime from the previous year. K.C.P.T. is bringing together this summit of community citizens to explore what causes crime and how to make your community safe. 

Attendees will be the first to view the extended excerpts from the newest K.C.P.T. documentary Our Divided City. Over the course of a year, the film follows the high rate of violent crime in the segregated Black community east of Troost and raises the question as whether enough is being done to make its neighborhoods safe.
