Upcoming Independence Homebuyer Education Class

Dream of buying a home? Join the Independence Homebuyer Education class Saturday, September 19 for a two-part seminar from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Community Services League on Noland Rd.

This class will help attendees to through the large financial decision of buying a home. Please come prepared with a calculator, paper, and a pen/pencil. Part 1 will occur from 8 a.m. to noon when attendees can break for lunch. Part 2 will begin at 1 p.m. and go until 5 p.m. 

Independence Homebuyer Education Class will cover the topics of: 

  • Managing your money
  • Buying a house
  • What you can afford
  • Mortgages
  • Types of home loans
  • Understanding your credit score
  • Protecting your investment
  • Investing in the neighborhood   

Learn about financial options available when looking for a house. In some cases, completion of the class may qualify individuals for low-cost financing or down payment assistance.
