LINC and LINCWorks staff recognized for community works

Members of the LINC and LINCWorks staff are to be honored by local organizations for their work in the community.

LINC and LINCWorks staff, as a whole, continuously strive to assist the community of Kansas City.

Recently, Roosevelt Dickerson, LINC Site Coordinator at Gladstone Elementary in the Kansas City Public Schools, and Carolyn Bruce-Hill and Lindsay Smith, LINCWorks Case Managers, have been recognized for their efforts by community organizations.

Dickerson will receive the Mattie Rhodes Spirit Award on Nov. 18 for his continued partnership work with the organization. The Mattie Rhodes Spirit Award is given to community members who best embody the spirit of Mattie Florence Rhodes who worked to serve the less fortunate in the community. Dickerson has worked with Mattie Rhodes Center previously to provide health fairs and more to the community.

"This individual serves as an inspiration to us all as we continue her good works through the services we offer."

Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) in Kansas City will honor LINCWorks case managers Carolyn Bruce-Hill and Lindsay Smith this month.

Bruce-Hill and Smith will be receiving the JVS Community Partnership Award, which is given to "a community partner who's staff is particularly remarkable and helps refugees overcome a broad range of barriers towards employment".

LINCWorks connects individuals receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) with specific resources that allow them to be successful on their  path to skills and work.
