Community comes out for Melcher school extravaganza
Families and community organizations came out for the July 25th End of Summer Extravaganza at Melcher Elementary in the Kansas City Public Schools.
The extravaganza connected over 100 attendees to representatives from:
- YMCA
- Bike Walk KC
- Building a Community of Readers-a Kansas City Public Library program
- A+ Program information from Kansas City Public Schools
- Girls on the Run
- The Angel Face Kids LLC
- Environmental Health Services from the Kansas City, Missouri Health Department.
Free popcorn, water and snow cones along with games, garden demonstrations, and playing in the school gym kept children entertained throughout the evening.
Two bicycles, donated by a Vineyard community resident, were raffled off during the evening.
Free Tdap shots and health information was provided by Bee-Wise Immunize sponsored by Nurse Family Partnership, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, Public Health, City of Kansas City Missouri, and Special Health Care Needs.
Over 100 people came out to the End of Summer Extravaganza. Activities included free gardening demonstrations, health and safety information, popcorn, snow cones, and games.
YMCA, Kansas City, Missouri Health Department, Kansas City Public Library, The Angle Face Kids LLC, and Girls on the Run were present to share information to the public. Free Tdap shots from Bee-Wise Immunize were available for families.
