Economic well-being of Missouri children highlighted in new infographic

A new infographic produced by the University of Missouri Office of Social and Economic Data Analysis (OSEDA) highlights some data about child economic well-being from recently released U.S. census data.

Among the findings are:

  • 1 in 5 Missouri children is poor
  • Racial and ethnic minority children are disproportionately poor
  • 1 in 4 of all Missouri children in households are supported by public programs to fight poverty
  • One-half of Missouri children in single-parent family households are supported by public programs to fight poverty

The infographic is based on 2015 American Community Survey data.

OSEDA is a partner with the Missouri Family and Community Trust and the Children's Trust Fund in the Missouri KIDS COUNT initiative of the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
