Over 100 LINC students participate in diverse activities in Martin City K-8

Martin City K-8 currently has 190 students active in  the LINC Before & After School program.

Students ranging from kindergarten to middle school engage with LINC site staff to learn about diverse cultures, safety, and healthy eating.

On Thursday, February 27, LINC students performed in skits, dances, and more for parents during "One World, One Us" program to showcase what they had learned about diverse cultures.

One hundred students from multiple grades and 80 parents came together to sample foods from around the world including Samosa, sticky rice with soy sauce, Arroz con Gandeles, Mbatata cookies, Pastelillitos de Guayaba, and apple pie.

During February, LINC students at Martin City also participated in a Healthy Living class where they learned tips on how to stay physically active and eating healthy. Kindergarten students created a tornado in a bottle and learned how to safely cross the street during Safety Week.

Melissa Paige is the LINC Site Coordinator at Martin City K-8.
